Thanksgiving Ideas

Posted: Oct 8, 03:16 PM Permanent Link

Thanksgiving is almost here! Are you hosting this year? Stressed about making this family holiday look nice without breaking your budget?

Do not let this Thanksgiving get you down. Host your holiday meal with autumn colours like red and orange to add a warm and welcoming glow to the atmosphere of your feast. Avoid worrying about the younger children by using battery operated candles as centrepiece decorations and let Mclean Sherwood Event Rental save you the stress of doing dishes. Small pumpkins make excellent decorations on mantles or tables, and they come in several shapes, colours and sizes, so do not be afraid to mix and match. Use earthy tones to decorate inside your home and brighter shades of orange and red on the exterior to add life to the whole event. If you are unsure of how to fix up the tables to add a more sophisticated look, napkin rings always add a cleaner appeal to the table, or if you have the time, fold the napkins into a specific pattern or design on each guests’ plate. Fabric napkins save garbage and add a more sophisticated appeal, and renting them would save you the extra load of laundry. And, as every adult wishes, do not forget to keep the kids occupied to make the evening even more stress-free. Printing out colouring pages for the kids, leaving out a few easy-to-clean games, and some outdoor toys should keep the youngsters occupied for a little while, hopefully long enough for you adults to have a good conversation.

Events do not have to be complicated to be extravagant.* Happy Thanksgiving!_*

Simple Party Decor

Posted: Sep 26, 11:02 PM Permanent Link

Have you ever been to event with so much going on it makes you dizzy? There is no one place to settle your eyes. The host has chosen too many colours, patterns, decorations, etc. for the event to be relaxing to the eyes of the guests. Let’s face it, if they had chosen to stick to something simple maybe the event would be more enjoyable. Simplicity goes a long way.
When planning an event, choose one piece to be the main focus. This piece could be anything from the centrepiece on the tables, to the chandeliers, to the drapery. Having one main focus in your décor allows the guests to feel more at ease, because they are not trying to concentrate on too many things at once.
The same goes for colours. Choosing several colours for your event can give it a tacky or childish look. Pick one or two main colours to focus on, selecting a few different shades of each, and placing them on a black or white backdrop.
Keeping your decorating simple helps bring down the risk of complication and overall decrease the risk of a stressful you. Everyone deserves to enjoy the event, especially the host. Sometimes less is more, so keep it simple.

Bold Colours

Posted: Sep 15, 10:40 PM Permanent Link

Fall 2014 has finally arrived and everyone is back into the swing of things. Host your next party and be the hot topic of the fall season with bold colour combinations in your linens and decorations. Compliment your black and white safety shades with a pop of tangerine or lime, and show off your style with bright colours like deep emerald and caution yellow.
Prove to guests that you’ve got class, displaying your knowledge of this fall’s hottest trends. Choosing the right colour can change the whole feel of an event. Soften up and tone down your style with carnation, toffee, or even lilac for a more sensitive and delicate look. Shades of red, like aurora red, create a more glamorous mood, a sophisticated look of flare and spunk, while purples, like dark orchid, show off elegance, inspiring a sense of femininity. Greens, like cypress, have a towering presence, pairing well with your glamorous or elegant colours.
If you are in a bind for a fast approaching fall wedding, try warm colour combinations to match the scenery and add glow to your special day. Bold shades of red and yellow add to the lively feel every wedding needs, but do not forget to compliment your warm tone with a bright boost from elsewhere on the colour wheel.
Bold colours are a must this fall season, so get planning your next event with flare and be the highlight of Fall 2014.
