Is There A "Spring" In Your Step?

Happy St. Patrick’s Day to all those who observed the day in one way or another, and, to anyone who had the opportunity, I hope you enjoyed the March Break.

Finally the weather is warming up, the grass is visible, there are buds on the trees, and I am once again hearing the birds sing. It is nice to see signs of spring. What are your spring traditions?

Some families do the whole “spring cleaning” thing, others have the traditional family vacation when all the kids are out of school for a week in March, but my family is in birthday season. In the course of one month and four days my immediate family celebrates four birthdays, and there are only five of us. I am currently sitting on the train to spend the weekend celebrating the first two birthdays of the family, and over the Easter break I will again travel home to celebrate the next two along with family Easter. Not everyone would consider birthdays to be a tradition, but we celebrate them every year, so why can’t they be?

Anyways, now that the weather is getting nicer, I challenge you to get outside and try a new activity. Join a running group, a recreational sports team, a daily walk with the dog, or learn to play a sport with your kids. I challenge you to get active this spring, and when you have accomplished your goal of whatever daily or weekly activity you chose, celebrate it at the beginning of summer knowing you did it.

Get active, and happy spring!
Brittany
